The Asian American Foundation
In 2020, we began a survey and listening tour. We learned about the experiences of AAPIs in the Baltimore region and one thing surfaced higher than anything else, “We want a community.” While networking and professional development were important, AAPIs strongly felt a gap in meaningful connections and spaces with AAPI peers in the Baltimore area. We piloted programs in the winter of 2021 and launched as an official chapter of the National Association of Asian American Professionals in May 2021.
We empower each other beyond our resumes as members of the National Association of Asian American Professionals Baltimore Chapter (NAAAP Baltimore). As part of a network with over 25,000 members across 30+ chapters, we leverage local and national relationships, programs, and resources to advance the personal and professional growth of Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPI).
NAAAP Baltimore fosters authentic connections and learning spaces where members feel welcomed, seen, heard, and valued. By unpacking and affirming lived experiences together, we can advance our career goals, promote diverse and representative leadership, and advocate for equitable and inclusive workplaces and communities.
Be Together
We form supportive and trusting relationships among APIAs to strengthen our sense of belonging.
Build Together
We promote bold, vulnerable, and APIA-driven dialogue and learning to elevate our best selves.
Better Together
We collaborate with partners to understand, amplify, and tackle challenges facing APIAs and marginalized communities.
Community-informed, member-driven.
Our efforts are intentional and we work to deepen our understanding of the needs of AAPIs in the region. We empower members to elevate and address interests that matter most to them.
Beyond our resumes.
We strive to see a person's whole self by pushing beyond transactional networking and supporting authentic connections. Amplifying our individuality and our shared stories drives change.
You belong.
We uphold practices that ensure everyone we engage is welcomed, seen, heard, and valued in our spaces.
